Feb. Bookworms: Sat. Feb. 25 at the Hopkins'
Please note the meeting is the fourth Saturday this month. Our book will be the NYT bestseller, "The Paris Wife" by Paula McLain. The book is a deeply evocative story of ambition and betrayal. "The Paris Wife" captures a remarkable period of time -- the glittering 1920s -- and a love affair between two unforgettable people: Ernest Hemingway and his wife, Hadley. I hope that you can join us. Contact Helen Vogel, 703-534-4877.

NEWS AND INFORMATION

Reconciliation of the Penitent
On Sunday mornings, we say the Confession of Sin together in our worship. The Book of Common Prayer offers an alternative personal confession called the Reconciliation of the Penitent on page 447. This is a personal confession done with a priest and be particularly helpful as part of a Lenten discipline. Some people have found this personal unburdening of their sins to be very helpful.

If you are interested in this type of confession, please contact the Reverend Anna Scherer or the Reverend Stephen Shepherd. We will arrange a time to meet you in the Chapel. At the appointed meeting time come to the chapel and you will find the priest dressed in a cassock sitting just behind the altar rail. While kneeling at the altar rail, you and the priest will say/pray the words in the Prayer Book. The priest will then offer absolution. There is complete confidentiality.
