St. Dunstan's Episcopal Church in McLean, Virginia, is a lively, growing community actively engaged in worship, outreach and prayer. On Sundays, we worship together at 8:15 a.m. and 10:15 a.m., with the latter service offering spiritual music including full choir and pipe organ, as well as nursery care. All services offer the sacrament of Holy Eucharist, and on the first and third Sunday we offer the Ministry of Healing to those who so desire immediately following Communion. In addition, a mid-week Eucharist is celebrated regularly during much of the year.St. Dunstan's parishioners minister to our community through many regional organizations -- including Samaritan Ministry, Martha's Table, Building Together, the SHARE food bank, and Habitat for Humanity -- and enjoy education programs, groups, and activities for all ages. What else is new? Click here to find out.

We welcome visitors to come celebrate with us and to call the parish office at 703-356-7533 with any questions. (Click HERE for a map and directions.)

Consider Joining Us This Fall - Education for Ministry
Don't let the name of this program throw you off - Education for Ministry (or EFM ) is not for clergy but is a program for laity who want to build a strong foundation of knowledge about the Old and New Testaments, Church History, Theology and who also want to learn how to think theologically. All baptized people are called to ministry in this world - and having a good foundation and training can help prepare you for whatever situation God calls you to.
Our group meets on Wednesday evenings at 6:30. We share a meal together, discuss the readings, and end with worship. We start the program year in September. This is a four year program, which you sign up one year at a time. The fee for this year is $350. Scholarships are available. Registration forms will be located in the vestibule and in the church office. For more information, please see Rev. Anna Scherer or Nancy Searby.
Young Adults Fellowship - Northern Virginia May 21st at 7:30 PM
This is a group of folks in their 20s and 30s from various episcopal churches in our region who enjoy a cold beer, deep theological discussions, and fellowship. We meet about twice a month at Ireland's Four Provinces in Falls Church to talk about our faith and to hang out. For more information, either visit our Facebook page or contact Rev. Anna Scherer at ascherer@stdunstans.ne

Parish Work Day: Thank you for your help!
Kudos to all who came out in support of the St Dunstan's Spring Work Day! Boy Scouts troop 652 and Cub Scout pack 1867 joined with St Dunstan's parishioners to clean, weed, mulch, rake, prune, cement, and enjoy one another's company in the completion of countless tasks.  Everyone's efforts paid off with St. Dunstan's grounds that look much neater and cleaner. Thank you all!

BEYOND THE PARISH

ECW Event in Northern VA on Thursday, May 31st
Dear Women of St. Dunstan's,

I'm pleased to alert you all to the upcoming Spring Open Board Meeting of the Diocesan ECW to be held on Thursday, May 31st. And, the good news for all of us in Region V is that it will be held nearby, at
Pohick Episcopal Church. The church is located at 9301 Richmond
Highway in Lorton.

The day will begin with coffee and a light breakfast at 8:30, and the
program will start promptly at 9:20. Business will include updates
from ECW's ministries, introduction of the Triennial 2012 delegate, and a focus on the Diocesan Youth Ministry's Nets for Life project. In
addition, two workshops will be offered: Meet Me In Galilee with
presenters Ellen Crawford and the Rev. David Neimeyer, and A Belly
Laugh A Day Keeps The Psychiatrist Away with author and motivational speaker Renee Cobb. The day will conclude with Eucharist starting at 1:30.

Cost for this event will be $25, including coffee, breakfast and a box
lunch. This is a great opportunity for us all to learn more about all the good things that the women of our Diocese are accomplishing - and, we don't have to drive very far to do it.

- Dottie Stone, Region V Women

If you are interested in attending this ECW event, please contact Elizabeth Lee or Ellen Keck for more details.

Spring Forward for SHARE!
A reminder that SHARE is in greater need than ever of your donations as its clientele list grows larger and larger. A take-home list of needed items is available to you in the vestibule, as are baskets for your donations of food and supplies, OR you may choose to donate a gift card to a local store where groceries and supplies are available. Envelopes for your gift cards or cash donations and checks are also available in the vestibule. You may either put them in the offering plate or deliver them to the Church Office.
